Next 200Hr Yoga Teacher Training starts in September 2018
12-month course / 200 hr RYT
It is a 12-month course with a staff of 7 people. This training is a way not only to deepen our knowledge of yoga and develop as teachers, but to explore our own inner worlds and to work on ourselves.
Rhonda Kuster (E-RYT500) has a deep passion for, and dedication to, the art of yoga. She began her yoga journey in 1997 and continues to study with many of the finest yoga teachers in the country. Some of her principal influences have been Rodney Yee, Richard Rosen, Doug Keller, Donna Farhi, Richard Freeman, Tias Little, Tim Miller, Laurie Blakeney, and Karen Allgire.
In 2011, she completed the first accelerated training in NY as an Urban Zen Integrative Therapist (UZIT) She teaches classes and workshops that integrate several modalities which include simple yoga movements, Reiki, essential oil therapy, breath awareness, restorative poses, and meditation. Rhonda is one of the Urban Zen Master Trainers for UZIT teacher trainings.
Rhonda took her first Sanskrit workshop in 1998 and fell in love with this beautiful language. She offers ‘Intro to Sanskrit' workshops which make it fun and accessible to learn proper pronunciation of yoga poses and various yoga terms such as the yamas and niyamas, as well as traditional yoga chants.
Mike Curtis is a E-RYT-500 teacher (trained and certified to teach teachers). Mike began The Yoga Place in 1995. He has attended many yoga teacher trainings as a student, has supervised many yoga teacher trainings as a teacher, and has practiced yoga in many countries. He believes that yoga is an incredible tool for anyone’s spiritual journey, and that a regular yoga practice is an enormous asset in self development. For Mike, learning is one of the greatest excitements, and learning together is even better.

All in all a very informative, uplifting and exciting program!
The cost of the course is $2200. You are welcome to make a down payment of $1000 and then make monthly payments of $108 for 12 months. The cost includes your books and access to all the yoga classes on our regular on-going schedule at all three locations.
The requirements for the course are at least two years of experience with yoga.
We like to accept people who put a high value on learning, exploring, respect and cooperation. This is not a program that only emphasizes the physical part of yoga—we offer a broader approach and a deeper education that shows how multi-faceted yoga really can be.
A typical weekend of our course will look something like this:
We will meet for three hours on Friday night from 6 to 9 pm. This will include two hours of asana practice followed by a documentary (light and healthy refreshments included, since we encourage you not to have dinner before class).
On Sundays we will begin quietly at 8:00 am with meditation and somatic yoga. During the course of the day we will focus on the study of proper alignment as well as practice teaching. We will conclude Sundays with anatomy and philosophy.
